In which Book is your Name Written?

 By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath Sermon, 13th July, 2013)

Man has a Maker

It's a thought that has engaged the mind of every serious person who has ever walked this planet:

What is man?

Where does he come from?

What am I doing on earth?

Is there any meaning to my life?

How will it all pan out?

Does God truly exist?

Call it the riddles of life, and you will not be far wrong. There's more to man than meets the eye. We feel it in our innermost being. The longing in our souls betray it--the quest for meaning, for purpose; our fascination with the paranormal; the desire to make sense of human existence.

Life under the Government of Christ

 By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath Sermon, 22nd June, 2013)

Human governments have existed as long as history has been recorded. The power of the state resides in governments, and they are necessary for civil order, public safety, national defence and smooth economic activity.   Governments are generally considered a force for societal good, although they can be dictatorial and oppressive towards their own citizens.

In Rom. 13 Paul urges believers to submit to the civil authorities on the grounds that governmental powers are instituted by God:

Are Christians Required to Pay Tithes?

 By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath School, 13th April, 2013 to 25th May, 2013)

A Dead Priesthood versus a Living Priesthood

The question, “Are Christians required to pay tithes?”, is a question that demands a biblically tenable honest answer!   Why commit one-tenth of your income to the ministry? Is it necessary? Is it mandatory and valid under the New Covenant?

Tithing is an issue of controversy in Christianity. Some argue vehemently that with the cessation of the Levitical priesthood the law of tithing established under it has also ceased with it.  After all, the relevant text states explicitly: “all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy unto the LORD” (Lev. 27:30).  But in giving the tithes to God Levi was to receive them, “behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation” (Num. 18:21).....

Greater Grace in Waiting

 By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath Sermon, 15th June, 2013)

"Your Strength is to Sit Still"

Waiting naturally creates anxiety and excitement. You wished the waiting was over and the expected good made real. Yet waiting isn't all about emotional swings between fear of disappointment and exhilaration of the reality to come. Waiting on the Lord is a way of keeping hope and expectancy alive.  It's a way of saying, 'Lord, I look unto Thee, and my hope in Thee shall not be in vain'. I will receive from your hand what I am waiting on you to do; my expectation in you will be fulfilled. You are all my hope!'

Money Matters: “Cast your Bread on the Waters”

By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sermon, Saturday, 4th May, 2013)

Direct from Heaven's Business Consultancy

I would like to give a special talk on sound Biblical business practices on this occasion of our free-will offering service for the first quarter of the year as a way of giving back to you so that you too can give back bountifully to the Lord.

Many centuries ago, the wise old preacher-king penned these golden words of wisdom: "Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days".

Many preachers misapply this scripture to the giving of offering regularly and copiously! The setting and the context of the text, however, are neither church nor offering, although I will readily concede that giving to God is the highest form of investment there is with incalculable, eternally rewarding returns! Didn't the Master Himself say, 'lay up your treasures in heaven where you have indestructible insurance cover for them? And that where your investment is, there your heart will be?'  (Matt. 6:19-21).

The Lord is Building a Glorious Church

 By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sermon Series 26th January, 2013 to 8TH June, 2013)

"He shall bear the Glory"

Golden Text:

"And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

"Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;

"Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

"And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of the LORD:

"Even He shall build the temple of the LORD; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon His throne; and He shall be a priest upon His throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both" (Zech. 6:9-13).

The Two Commings of Christ, who is the Holy Spirit

 By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath School 12th Jan. 2013 to 23rd March, 2013)

"The Lord is the Spirit" (3 Cor. 3:17).

Who is the Holy Spirit?

By the title "The Two Comings of Christ", I'm not referring to the two comings of Christ as is traditionally understood: that is, His first coming in the flesh and His second coming as King of kings and the Lord of the church. That is true and scriptural.

Instead, I'm referring to two comings of Christ that would take place after His resurrection and ascension. And a secret appearance in the sky to cause a 'secret rapture' of the church is not one of them (see Matt. 24:29-31; Rev. 1:7).

What I mean by the 'two comings of Christ' scheduled to happen after His resurrection and ascension is that, first, Christ would return to His followers in spirit form and then later visibly to restore all things! This explains why God has sent Jesus to all truly repentant believers, but He still "must stay in heaven until the restoration of all things". Download the full sermon here..
